Candlemas or Virgin Purification
It is the feast of the presentation of Jesus at the temple, also known as Candlemas or the feast of the purification of the Virgin.
It celebrates the life of Jesus. The Virgin of the Candlemas appeared in a beach in the termer if Island in Spain in 1400.
In the Roman Catholic Church it is a feast celebrated on 2nd February. It is a great feast.
In the Church of England it is the main feast celebrated on 2nd February or on Sunday between 28th January and 3rd February.

According the holly texts Mary and Joseph took Jesus to the temple of Jerusalem forty days after he was born, to dedicate him to God, according the Jewish low of the time. The family met Simon, the holly text register Simons words who said fat it was promised to him to see the little Jesus before die.
TRADITIONAL CANDLEMASTraditionally Candlemas was the last feast of the liturgic year dated for reference to Christmas. Before the liturgic reform of Vatican II, Candlemas marked the end of Christmas and Epiphany.
The term Candlemas refers to ancient practice in which a priest blessed the wax Candles with an aspergillum to use during the year. In the United Kingdom, good weather at Candlemas is taken to indicate severe winter weather later: "If Candlemas Day is clear and bright, / winter will have another bite. / If Candlemas Day brings cloud and rain, / winter is gone and will not come again."
